As soon as a new employee starts with us at PrimitiveSense they begin their journey into our business work ethics, beliefs and state of mind. We give each member of staff a bundle of books to read that cover topics we believe in and implement. We highly recommend them if you work in Tech, eCommerce, Business and have invested interest of self development. Those books are;
We treat every client like we treat an employee's, it's all about you and your requirements and what you really want. We all have complete trust in each other and we all understand and believe in each others skill set and abilities. Because everyone understands their own responsibilities it gives us trust and respect in each other, which in turn gives us more time to focus on our own jobs and projects.
Since the age of 7 Glen Wheeler has invested most of his life investing time in technology. It was the perfect time in history back in 1982 when the ZX Spectrum turned up on the scene, an 8-bit computer system that held 16KB of RAM that brought so much fun to the home is where it all started.
Whilst playing games on these computers was so much fun, PrimitiveSense owner Glen Wheeler quickly found himself using Acorn computers in the early days of secondary school. The Acorn was one of the first computers that allowed you to generate and design pixel graphics which really sparked the creative side of Glen's development in designing on screen graphics. The addiction, and it really is an addiction to computers had started, Glen went on to study a GNVQ at school which made up 4 of his GCSE's at the time. Before taking up the GNVQ Glen's parents were told that he might struggle with the level of everything involved, however of the 6 week break from school Glen studied and returned the following year to gain 4 A*'s at GNVQ level.
Fast forward to the college and university years Glen had two interest and it wasn't beer or girls. Glen played a lot of sport, specifically football which brought the whole team element into his life, working as a team has always been important and mixing that with everything he was learning with computers and technical systems Glen began to build a reputation for leadership and management. After leaving studies behind Glen went on to join multiple digital agencies in and around Newcastle upon Tyne, working with some top level brands such as Ladbrokes, BSkyB, Durham University and Heineken gaining valueable experience in working with world experts.
As you can tell from reading above, Glen is not the type of person who sits still. Glen is driven on self development and is someone who really enjoys life, so...why not quit your job and do something you really love. At the age of 24 Glen released himself from a digital agency and decided to spend the next 5 years of his life working as a freelance developer building up his status and circles in the beautiful, creative city of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Landing to 2017 Glen rapidly started to build up his client base which was becoming unmanageable due to demand from High Profile clients such as P&G, Dr Oetker and Venator. Things had to change and so Glen started to build a team. After trying to work with Sub Contractors for some time, Glen finally got in touch with an old friend. Tom Harnasz, a developer from the UK has been a long time friend of Glens of over 10 years. Glen and Tom first met on a project to develop a membership platform for a local networking event which was and still is very successful in the North East. Tom joined the company in April 2018 as technical director and brings a wealth of knowledge in enterprise and large traffic websites and web applications. Since Tom joining PrimitiveSense we have been able to bring in new contracts and clients of large scale which has doubled company turnover in the last year.
Glen and Tom have grown up during a key time. Since the mid 1980's technology has completely boomed, especially in the computing industry, as you have read above we have moved through a time where computers, programming and the digital age have rapidly evolved. This give's us one major advantage over anyone else in the industry, we lived and grew up through the times and were there when was the web launched back in 1991 by the amazing Tim Berners-Lee. Glen and Tom have a ridiculous investment of interest in the web industry and because it is still so new, we want to be able to help others understand and evolve their online presence.
In 2019 we are in such a lucky position when it comes down to technology, innovation and the web. We have an incredible bunch of people surrounding our industry which will push web technologies to it's limits. Who would have thought just over 20 years ago that we could get access to trillions of on demand video, could shop online from anywhere in the world and have deliveries the next day, could watch live TV on your way to work or even chat to your favourite celebrity directly through your mobile device.
The web is a place to let your creative juices run wild, there is nothing that cannot be delivered, hell! We are
